Ikat is a resist-dyeing technique of exceptional complexity. Yarn bundles are bound and dyed before weaving — the pattern exists in the thread before the loom is even threaded. When those yarns are woven together, the design emerges with characteristic soft, feathered edges: a blur-between-clarity that no printed or digital fabric can replicate.
