Care Instructions

Caring for Your ITQĀSH Piece

Your ITQĀSH shawl is a living heirloom. With proper care, it will grow more beautiful with every passing year.

Washing

Hand wash in cold water using a mild, pH-neutral detergent or baby shampoo. Never use hot water or bleach. Gently press the fabric — do not wring or twist. Rinse thoroughly until the water runs clear.

Drying

Lay flat on a clean dry towel. Reshape gently by hand. Never tumble dry or hang — hanging will stretch the delicate fibres over time. Keep away from direct sunlight while drying.

Storage

Fold loosely and store in the cotton dust bag provided. Avoid plastic bags, which trap moisture. Add a cedar block or lavender sachet to deter moths — never mothballs, which can damage natural fibres.

Pilling

Minor pilling is natural in any fine cashmere. Use a soft cashmere comb or a fabric stone to gently remove pills. This does not indicate damage — it is simply the fibre settling.

Dry Cleaning

For heavily embroidered Kani or Sozni pieces, dry cleaning is recommended. Inform your dry cleaner that the piece is hand-embroidered pashmina and requires the gentlest treatment.
